Year 10 and 11 students had a visit by the NSW traffic and highway police today at their year meeting.
Follow this link for photos and a detailed report:
They listened attentively to a talk about how the highway patrol, crash investigation, and rescue squad keep drivers safe on our roads. They were shown the technology used by the highway patrol for speed enforcement, random breath and mobile drug testing, how crash Investigators manage crime scene's, and the 'jaws of life' used by police rescue officers.
We were also lucky enough to have a "moits" truck at the event, where an unmarked highway patrol car was parked at the rear, with another car parked alongside, where students were encouraged to sit inside the cabin to see if they could identify either vehicle. Many students and teachers who sat inside the truck could not see either vehicle.
After the presentation students were able to see our vehicles up close, and talk with highway patrol, crash investigation, and rescue officers.
