The library at Asquith Boys High School is a dynamic, collaborative learning space. The open environment is welcoming, well resourced and student centred.
Alongside the traditional foundation expected in a library; contemporary and classic novels, wide ranging non-fiction, graphic novels, desktop computers, access to printing, professional research assistance and chess. The library also runs a technology based 'maker space' for junior boys, which enables students to refine and develop their science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills. As well as a ‘project based learning' personal interest project for all Year 7 boys.
The library is continually evolving to anticipate and reflect the needs and interests of our current students.
Our vision for the near future is to reconfigure and refurnish the library to create a ‘future focused learning environment' which will facilitate teaching across all learning modes: collaborative, experiential and independent.
Learning in such an environment establishes work based practices required for employment in contemporary society.
